For most jobs a charge for plates will be encoured.

You must bare in mind that when the trade is quiet some printers are prepaired to throw in the cost of the plates, which when produced 'in house' is a very small outlay (as apposed to their usual retailing price).

This could lead to you gaining a job that you would otherwise have lost (speculate to accumulate).
